East Bay Therapy Center is here for you!
We specialize in teen, adult, family, and couples therapy using Attachment Based and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
How we work:
A Family Approach
Research shows that strong and secure parent-teen relationships have a profound positive impact on teens’ mental health and well-being. Therefore, when working with teens, we take a family approach of not only working with the adolescent, but also with the parent(s)/family. Therapy is temporary, but family is for life. Strengthening family bonds equips teens for life, long after our therapeutic relationship with them ends.
A social justice Approach
We strive to work from a place of cultural humility and provide culturally-affirming services to clients from diverse backgrounds and identities. We are sensitive to the ways in which power, privilege, and oppression with regards to sexuality, race, class, gender, and body size (among many others), impact our clients and come into play in the client-therapist relationship.
an evidence-based approach
Here at the East Bay Therapy Center, we use research-backed therapy interventions that have been proven to work. Some of the evidence-based approaches we utilize include:
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
